Ireland Travel GuideSome information and tips about Ireland

About Ireland

Ireland is one of the globe’s most singular journey destinations, a feisty, twinkling country some distance greater well-known for the sum of its parts than for any specific sight or attraction. Its landscapes are raw, its cities are animated, and its records hold endless testimonies of adversity. Tying all this collectively is the Irish character, a fabled aggregate of bright-eyed bonhomie and bar-room banter: there’s an exact purpose why the planet’s full of Irish pubs. Lovable Dublin falls naturally as the most popular alternative for first-time visitors, even though for all the capital city’s stately architecture and riverside charm, it only partly recommendations at what the wider country has to offer. The actual spirit of today’s nation might be up for debate – it’s as possible to be observed in a Connemara village as a Cork road scene – however, searching for it is hugely enjoyable.
It’s often stated that there are two Irelands. Despite its financial woes, 21st-century Ireland is a present-day destination full of fresh creativity. At the same time, of course, it’s somewhere rooted in the strongest of traditions, a country marked by humor, hospitality, and greater than the occasional late night. The craic of legend isn’t ordinarily challenging to find. With all this in mind, it’s possibly no shock that Ireland caters to various interests. Those searching for windswept hikes, Celtic relics, and fiddle-and-song pubs will be well-sated, but so will those searching for on-trend gastronomy, family-friendly sights, or slick hotels. The country may be small, but its cultural effect worldwide continues to be enormous, and this is due to a long way greater than simply romantic thinking of how it used to be.
Various icons and pics enjoy close associations with Ireland (see everything from craggy peninsulas to pints of Guinness). Still, the country’s natural beauty is that it transcends every cliché people throw at it. Its potential for adventure – for a wild, blood-pumping journey – is all too often overlooked, while, for those who want to take it easy, the choices are copious.

Weather, Climate and Geography

It sometimes rains in Ireland, but long showers are rare. The mild climate makes every season suitable for visiting Ireland. In summer, the average daytime temperature inland is approximately 18°C (64°F).
The southeast part of Ireland generally gets the best weather, so the Irish call it the “Sunny South East.”

Weather-friendly wardrobe
Wondering what to pack? Choose layers that are easy to put on and take off when the temperature changes. Take a sweater (even in summer), waterproof clothing for all outdoor activities, sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes, and an umbrella. Here are some tips about what to expect from the weather in Ireland by season.

Spring (March-May)

In spring, it becomes gradually warmer, with average temperatures between 8-12°C (46-53°F). Towards the end of the season, the temperature often reaches 15 °C (59°F), with April usually being a particularly pleasant month. Long sleeves and a light wind and waterproof jacket are perfect for this kind of weather.

Summer (June – August)

The summer typically ranges from 16-20 C (60-68 F) in terms of average temperature. Apart from short refreshing showers, this is Ireland’s driest season. Take a light raincoat but also sunglasses! Although the sun may not seem very bright, it is still important to use sunscreen. The hottest months, July and August, get about 18 hours of daylight, only turning dark after 11 pm in the evening. Hence the well-known saying in Ireland, “Make the most of your evening.”

Fall (September – November)

In fall, the temperature ranges between 14-18 °C (57-64°F). People consider September a mild to moderate month. The beautiful autumn colors and slightly more frequent rainfall than in summer characterize the season. The temperature will drop further at the end of the season to below 10 °C (50°F). Take a waterproof, padded jacket and long sleeves to stay warm and dry.

Winter (December – February)

The average temperature during the winter ranges between 4-6 °C (39-42°F). Occasionally, the temperature drops below freezing, and snow is rare, apart from a few brief periods of cold. The rain can make it feel colder than it is, so a warm, waterproof winter coat will keep you warm. The Irish enjoy visiting cozy pubs (preferably with crackling log fires) a little more frequently during the winter.
