About italy Located in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, Italy has always enjoyed a favorable climate that has characterized it as one of the most fertile places, which is evidenced by the fact that, over the centuries, it has been the common goal and often terrain of conflict between all populations who wanted to settle in a mild place, but also a goal of those kingdoms that saw in it an almost inexhaustible reserve of raw materials and fundamental for the daily needs and maintenance of them.
Some data perhaps help us to better understand the extraordinary importance of this country: from a scientific and naturalistic point of view, it must be said that Italy is the country with the highest rate of biodiversity in the world, but we must not forget a historical and cultural data of no less importance, that is, that in Italy there is 30% of the world's artistic heritage. These elements would be enough to make us understand the grandeur of this territory, but it must be said that Italy is not only special compared to other countries, in fact, visiting the boot from North to South, you can find that each place is characteristic and is specific to another. Travelling Italy is a continuous immersion in many universes, each with its own stories and traditions!
weather and climate The climate varies considerably from the north to the south of Italy. In the north of the country - the area between the Alps and the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines - the climate is harsh, with very cold winters and very hot, particularly humid summers. In central Italy the climate is milder, with a smaller difference in temperature between summer and winter and a shorter and less intense cold season than in the north; summers are longer, but the sultriness of the northern cities is mitigated by the sea. In southern Italy and the islands winters are never particularly harsh, and spring and autumn temperatures are similar to those reached in the summer in other areas of Italy.
Required clothing Lightweight clothes are worn during the summer, except in the mountains. Winter demands light to medium weights in the south, but warmer clothes elsewhere. Alpine wear is advised for winter mountain resorts.
Passport and visas There are no visa requirements for US, UK, EU, Australian and Canadian citizens. All visitors (Except for EU citizens) must have a valid passport.
