• DAY 1

  Welcome to Nairobi!

  Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where meet and greet will take place. Then, you will be transferred to Wilson Airport for your flight to Maasai Mara Game Reserve which will take approximately one hour. On arrival, you will be met at the airstrip and have transferred to Sand River Maasai Mara camp which is a 45-minute drive. While at the lodge you'll enjoy shared and scheduled game drives in custom 4x4 vehicles, bush meals and landowners, and cultural experiences. Comprising of 16 tented accommodations, sand river Maasai Mara replicates the heyday of exclusive permanent tented camps of the late 1920s.

  Maasai Mara National Reserve - Discover the big cats during game reserve

  Located on the banks of a river from which it has taken its name, Sand River Maasai Mara is located within the Maasai Mara National Reserve, close to the Tanzanian border on a secluded and picturesque site. Sand River Maasai Mara is an ideal destination, at any time of the year, for those wishing to enjoy exceptional game-viewing.

  The Maasai Mara is known as one of the world’s most famous wildlife areas and welcomes 1,5 million wildebeests onto its sprawling savannahs each July through October. The Maasai Mara has endless plains, breath-taking vistas, and abundant wildlife. The Maasai Mara is a photographer's paradise for an extra special birds-eye view of the African plains, taking them to the skies during a hot-air balloon safari.

  Welcome to Diani Beach

  Our lovely wilderness safari and stay in Maasai Mara end this morning. After our farewell breakfast, we enjoy a shared transfer to the airstrip where we board our scheduled flight to Diani for the sea breeze of the Indian Ocean on the famous Swahili coast. Flying from the Maasai Mara game reserve plains to the tropical coast takes us over amazingly diverse scenery from dry arid lands scattered with Acacia trees to lush tropical forests as we near the coast. The flight takes approximately 2 hours with a stopover in Amboseli.
  
  The hotel lies south of Mombasa- Kenya, on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Afrochic Diani is the perfect getaway for the discerning traveler who wants to simply ‘flop and drop’ and enjoy the spectacular views of exotic and ancient dhows in full sail. This exclusively intimate hotel - with only 10 guest rooms each with their en suite bathroom, balcony, and sun-loungers - is singularly personable and highly individual.

  Diani Beach - Try popular bars and restaurants for the farewell night

  Diani Beach is a 15 miles (25 km) strip of pale, sugary sands backed by the cerulean Indian Ocean. There’s a great variety of restaurants, cafés, bars, and shops in Diani, and as one of the more developed towns on the Kenyan coast.
  
  In Diani, a popular place includes the Ali Barbour’s restaurant that is set inside a candle-lit cave that opens out onto the starry night’s sky above and the Forty Thieves Beach Bar for their fun beach parties.

  Nairobi - Departure

  On this day you will take your local flight back to Nairobi and upon arrival be transferred to JKIA for your international flight back home or to your next holiday destination.
  
  We wind up our beach vacation in Diani with the farewell breakfast this morning. We check out and take our shared road transfer to Ukunda airstrip where we board our scheduled local flight to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. From Wilson, you will be transferred to JKIA for your international flight back home.
