We will leave Marrakech and head south-west winding our way up into the high Atlas Mountains. let’s first have some heart-pounding in the snake road “Tichka”, we will twist and turn in the snow-covered mountains, through the Berber villages and hills towards, the gate of the desert “Ouarzazate” that will open for us a door to stop the clock and go back in time while passing via the fertile Draa Valley, despite its rich history, culture and fame, the Berbers of the Draa Valley still live in ways very similar to those of their ancestors. They ride donkeys, wash their clothes in the river, and depend on clay to build their houses. Tamarisk trees can grow up to 18m (60ft.) in height and are at home in drier and desert areas. With slender branches and grey-green foliage, the trees tend to flower between March and September, with pink and white flowers appearing on the end of spikes.
