- DAY 1
Welcome to Arusha, Tanzania!
Your host will be on hand when you arrive at the airport and will take you to Arusha Lodge. Comprising of 30 Plantation Houses that radiate out into the evergreen coffee fields, Arusha Lodge has been designed around the original landowner’s home that dates to the early 1900s.
Enjoy freshly brewed Tanzania coffee whilst you relax and unwind after your flight. If you are ready for sleep, you will immediately relax in your luxurious room, with its fine linens. In the morning you will be refreshed and ready to go.
- DAY 2
Tarangire National Park
Travel to Tarangire National Park, where you embark on an afternoon game drive in search of eland, oryx, wildebeests, zebras, and a sizable elephant population that calls the park’s diverse swamps, open grasslands, and acacia-dotted parkland home. The Tarangire River runs through the landscape, quenching wildlife with a year-round supply of water. And with over 300 species of birds, including pelican, storks, and of course, lesser pink flamingos, the birdlife is abundant and colorful.
- DAY 3
The Ngorongoro Crater - Discover
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lunch at the lodge. This afternoon, you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for a day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos, and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Ngorongoro.
- DAY 4
Serengeti National Park - Explore and search of Cheetahs, Lions, and Leopards
Drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Lunch at the lodge in Serengeti. You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade.
- DAY 5
Serengeti National Park - Admire Tanzania’s first-established, largest, and most famous park
Our vantage point in the Serengeti allows us to further explore this vast and endlessly rolling Savannah plain. It is Tanzania’s first-established, largest, and most famous park wherein tens of thousands of hoofed animals roam in a constant and unremitting search for the fresh grasslands upon which their survival depends. The Serengeti, whose Maasai name ‘Syringe’ translates as ‘the endless plains, offers unparalleled ornithological opportunities and an unrivaled natural arena wherein the glory and harmony of nature can be appreciated as nowhere else on earth.
- DAY 6
Serengeti National Park - Game Drive
Once again you will be able to experience game drives in the morning and the afternoon. Both drives will give you great wildlife viewing opportunities. You will see large herds of local grazing animals going by and have a good chance of seeing some of the big cats. If you can visit between January and March, you may be able to witness the Great Migration, when huge herds of Thomson’s gazelles, wildebeests, and zebras return to the Serengeti as they give birth to their young. It is an unforgettable experience that is not to be missed. After all these adventures, you will be more than ready for a mid-day nap, a dip in the pool, or laze on the veranda to escape the heat of the day.
- DAY 7
Ngorongoro Highlands and Admire the Waterfalls
Enjoy an early morning game drive, before breakfast. Return to the lodge for late breakfast then depart to Ngorongoro Highlands. Lunch at Gibbs Farm or similar. Afternoon visit to the waterfalls.
